Engineering Field of Study Advisory Committee

The Engineering Field of Study Advisory Committee (Engineering FOSAC) is a 24-member committee composed of faculty and administrators from institutions across the state, half from universities that offer one or more baccalaureate degree programs in an engineering discipline and half from community and technical colleges that offer courses leading to an undergraduate degree in engineering.

At its December 10, 2014, quarterly meeting, and after a 30-day, statewide comment period ending on December 7, the Coordinating Board's Committee on Academic and Workforce Success adopted the Commissioner's recommendation to establish the Engineering FOSAC. Please see Board rules, Chapter 1, Subchapter T, Sections 1.220-1.226, which were published in the Texas Register on November 7, 2014. The full Board adopted these rules at its January 22, 2015, meeting.

The Engineering FOSAC is charged with identifying the block of courses which may be transferred to a general academic teaching institution and must be substituted for that institution's lower-division requirements for the engineering degree program into which the student transfers.

Engineering FOSAC Members: The 24 members of the Engineering FOSAC serve staggered terms of up to three years.
