Open Educational Resources Grant Program

Program Purpose

The purpose of the Open Educational Resources Grant (OERGP) is to award up to twenty (20) grants that will encourage faculty at institutions of higher education to adopt, modify, redesign, or develop courses that use only open educational resources. An Open Educational Resource is a teaching, learning, or research resource that is in the public domain or has been released under an intellectual property license that permits the free use, adaptation, and redistribution of the resource by any person. The statutory authority for the Open Educational Resources Grant Program is found in Texas Education Code (TEC), Section 61.0668. Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Rules 4.230-4.238 govern the program.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board encourages applications from all eligible faculty members. Eligible projects will be comprised of open educational resources for a complete course, which will require only open educational resources and is a lower-division course offered within the Texas General Education Core Curriculum.
