Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board
Brenda Pejovich, of Dallas, Texas, was appointed by Governor Rick Perry in July 2010 to the University of Texas System Board of Regents for a term to expire February 1, 2011. Previously she was a Board Member of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board since November 2007. During that time, Ms. Pejovich served as Chair for the Committee on Agency Operations and Vice-Chair for the Committee on Closing the Gaps. She is a member of the Advisory Committee on Higher Education Cost Efficiencies.
Ms. Pejovich, a Texas Certified Public Accountant, is the Chief Executive Officer of BFG Management Company, L.L.C. and founder of BP Associates. She is currently serving as a Board member of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation, Greater Texas Community Partners, and the World Affairs Council of Dallas Fort Worth. Further, Ms. Pejovich is the founding Chairman (2003-2005) and Executive Committee Member of the Texas Women's Initiative. She is the former Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Brenda Pejovich & Associates, Inc. (BPA) which she sold to a division of a Fortune 1000 firm. A leader in the workforce solutions industry, BPA provided project consulting services for major corporations including Fortune 500 firms earning it recognition by the Dallas Business Journal as one of the Top 25 largest companies in its sector. She is the former Chair of the Texas Building & Procurement Commission, Director and Board Secretary of the Texas Mutual Insurance Company, Director of the American Red Cross for the Dallas Area Chapter, Chair of the Clara Barton Society in Dallas, Director of the Greater Dallas Crime Commission, Advisory Board Member of Associa, Inc. and the Texas Trailblazer Award benefiting The Family Place.
Ms. Pejovich's community involvement and her countless contributions around the state have earned her numerous awards and recognition, including "Woman of the Month" by the National Center for Policy Analysis, the First Recipient of the "Supplier of the Year" award by Bank One Texas Minority/Women Enterprise Program, the "21st Century Most Promising Leader" from the Dallas Urban League, and "Great Women" honoree from YWCA, among others.
Past and present memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Museum of Art, Stradivarius Patron of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Regional Chamber, Junior Achievement Program, and the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program. She is also a primary sponsor of the World War II Memorial located on the Capitol grounds in Austin, Texas.
A proud Life Member of the Texas Exes Alumni Association, Ms. Pejovich is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor's in Business Administration.
