Wal-Mart
John joined Wal-Mart in March of 1994, and served as a District Manager until he was promoted to Regional Manager in May of 1997. In February of 1999, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer for Wal-Mart Germany. He returned from Germany in December 1999 and resumed responsibilities as a Regional Vice President. In January 2002, John was re-assigned as Vice President for Loss Prevention for Wal-Mart Stores, Supercenters, and Neighborhood Markets, U.S.A. In March, 2004, John returned to Operations as the Regional Vice-President of Region 09 which is the Dallas - Ft. Worth, Texas market.
Prior to joining the company, John had an Air Force career. His last assignment was as The Commander of the Army and Air Force Exchange Services in the Pacific (AAFES). He served as a Congressional Liaison Officer for four years and was assigned directly to the U.S. House of Representatives for three years. John also taught classes in Sociology and Marketing at Texas Central College and the University of Maryland.
