Executive Vice President, Finance & Administration
Austin Community College
Ben Ferrell has over 20 years of experience in community college financial administration, and currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas. His responsibilities include finance, budgeting, environmental health and safety, risk management, human resources, and facilities construction, and facilities maintenance. Ferrell has been a Texas Certified Public Accountant since 1990.
Prior to working in higher education, Ferrell worked in public accounting, and the non-profit accounting sector. He has served on numerous financial advisory committees for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and is the immediate past President of the Texas Association of Community College Business Officers. In 2007, Ferrell was recognized by the national Community College Business Officers organization as the Outstanding Chief Business Officer for Region 7.
Ferrell holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Tyler, and is currently working on a Master's degree in College Student Development at St. Edward's University in Austin.
