The general charge to the Committee is to advise and assist Coordinating Board staff in:

1. developing statewide initiatives for meeting the goals of the State's Higher Education Plan, Closing the Gaps;
2. developing strategies for implementing recommendations identified in the Board's reports on nursing education;
3. responding to directives from the Legislature; and
4. recommending future directions for the Board and institutions on nursing education in Texas.

The Committee is expected to meet at least semiannually with additional meetings to be called as needed.
