NOTE: Information on this page relates to the current Core Curriculum (1999-2014). Procedures for evaluation and approval of the new Core Curriculum (implementation in Fall 2014) can be found on this website: http://www.thecb.state.tx.us/corecurriculum2014 |
All public institutions of higher education that wish to make changes to their core curricula must submit a core curriculum change request to the Division of Workforce, Academic Affairs, and Research (WAAR) for review and approval. This ensures compliance with the framework of the core curriculum as approved by the Coordinating Board and provides Board staff with a database of current core curricula that can be used when dealing with transfer issues and disputes. Board Rules define a change to the core curriculum as:
Core Curriculum Change Request Form
The Board staff will transmit the documentation for approved changes to a designated individual who tracks the changes and posts them online at the Texas Core Web Center hosted by Texas State University at San Marcos.
The Texas Statutes require institutions to submit periodic reports to the Coordinating Board regarding the review and evaluation of the institution's Board-approved core curriculum. The links on this page are intended to provide assistance to institutions in the development of those reports and their submission to the Coordinating Board.
