Emergency and Trauma Care Education Partnership Program (ETEP)
The Emergency and Trauma Care Education Partnership Program (ETEP) provides funding to support partnerships between hospitals and graduate medical education programs that increase the number of emergency medicine and trauma care physician residents and fellows (Graduate Medical Education grants). ETEP also supports partnerships between hospitals and graduate professional nursing programs to provide educational experiences in emergency and trauma care for registered nurses pursuing a graduate degree or certificate (Nursing grants). ETEP was established in 2011 by the 82nd Texas Legislature, First Called Session, and codified in Texas Education Code Sections 61.9801 - 61.9807.
ETEP partnerships must certify an increase in the number of physicians and/or nursing students in the participating graduate education programs. In addition, the partnership must utilize the existing expertise and facilities of the hospitals and education programs.
Inquiries regarding ETEP should be directed to Fu-An Lin, Program Director, Academic Quality and Workforce Division at ETEP@thecb.state.tx.us.
