Math, Science, & Technology Teacher Preparation Academies
The purpose of the Math, Science & Technology (MST) Teacher Preparation Academies is to improve the instructional skills of certified teachers and to train students enrolled in undergraduate and master's degree teacher preparation programs to perform at the highest levels in mathematics, science, and technology. The funding for these teacher preparation academies is provided by House Bill 2237.
The goal of this program is to increase effective MST teaching by increasing the number of Texas teachers who are Master Teachers, or who have their Master's of Education in mathematics, science or technology. It is anticipated that Academy participants will be better able to prepare students to be college ready in mathematics, science, and technology upon high school graduation.
Math, Science & Technology Teacher Preparation Academies have been successfully implemented across the state. No additional funding is available for this program at this time.
