THECB Advisor & Counselor Summer Institute

July 14, 2014

The primary objective of the THECB Advisor & Counselor Summer Institute is for academic advisors and/or career counselors to collectively problem-solve common challenges in implementing the requirements of the TSI.  This Institute will serve as a platform for advisors and counselors to share promising practices and to identify new strategies that support a holistic approach to academic and career advising. Our main goal is to equip institutional representatives with the knowledge, strategies, and connections that will allow them to effectively assess the academic readiness of underprepared students with the goal of appropriate placement. The success of this institute will depend, to a large degree, on the willingness of the participants to share the effective strategies that they are developing and to be transparent about the issues and challenges as well as the emerging solutions being developed.
