Note:

This proposal contains the description of a project titled the Program for the Integrated Training of Counselors in Behavioral Healthcare (PITCH). This proposal is for the Professional Track. The primary goal of the PITCH project is to develop a local workforce of highly trained counselors to provide Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (IBH) to rural, vulnerable, and underserved communities in primary care settings. This goal will be accomplished through three primary objectives: (1) training and supporting 48 clinical mental health counselors to provide IBH; (2) establishing meaningful, longitudinal partnerships focused on IBH; and (3) institutionalizing the initiative. Project deliverables include: (1) training of 48 PITCH counselors (Obj. 1); (2) Establishment of an IBH certificate (Obj. 1); (3) Establishment of five IBH field sites (Obj. 2); (4) Semesterly professional/inter-professional workshops (Obj. 2); (5) Annual community workshops (Obj. 2); (6) Establishment of the PITCH Counselor Competency and Employment Database (Obj. 3); and (7) Establishment of the PITCH Virtual Library (Obj. 3).
