Program Title: Mental and Behavioral Health Education and Training Grants
Qualifies under SAM 1.1.1. and 1.3.2. The purpose of this grant application is to increase the number of culturally and linguistically competent mental healthcare providers in rural, vulnerable, and medically-underserved communities by expanding internship opportunities in integrated behavioral healthcare settings. For students attending the Master of Social Work Program (MSW), participating in pre-doctoral internships through Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, or attending the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MH-PNP) program at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). These programs are designed to train culturally competent practitioners capable of serving this medically underserved community.
