Qualifies under SAM 1.1.1. and 1.3.2 The successful outcome of the research project warrants implementation to develop tighter guidelines and specification to allow for the HMA to have a crack performance test that is reliable. This will not only impact TxDOT of the state level but as a lead state in characterizing a crack tests that is the standard in the nation. This implementation will focus on establish acceptance limits for cracking resistance on mixes that are used statewide. As well as focusing on laboratory testing protocol and training District labs, both Austin and San Antonio.
