Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity: Texas Instruments

Program Title: N/A

The goals of this project are to measure the limits on angular accuracy, signal-to-noise, response speed, light wavelength and intensity dependence, etc. of the existing prototypes, model the device physics in terms of photocarrier generation and diffusion, and use this knowledge to design and fabricate an improved astrolabe with integrated amplifiers and signal processing that will be suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
