The Dallas Lifespan Brain Study (DLBS) was designed to understand how the brain changes at each phase of the adult lifespan and how such brain changes affect memory and other measures of cognition. The DLBS scientists conduct brain scans on healthy adults for evidence of the earliest signs of plaques and tangles associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Completion of this study will provide a picture, over eight years, of the earliest brain changes related to cognitive decline as well as the conditions under which people maintain cognitive vitality.
