1.1.1, 1.1.4: The purpose of this research award is for the purchase of a Illumina NovaSeq 6000 sequencing system for the Center for Biotechnology and Genomics. The NovaSeq 6000 will add greater speed, depth of coverage, and greater efficiency of data production, thereby decreasing costs and “time to data reception,” thus significantly impacting the research efforts of the Center. This instrument will enhance the ability of the biomedical and basic sciences research community to obtain genomic, transcriptomic, microbiome and epigenetic data more rapidly at reduced cost, and expand the accessibility of these research tools to an even broader base. Determined by NIH to meet the definition of Research and Development.
