1.1.1: The purpose of the research project is to discover, innovate and transition integrated structural health monitoring and platform technologies and capabilities to support zero-maintenance aviation. Specifically, the following research tasks: 1) prediction of damage precursors in metals and composites using quantum and molecular methods; 2) innovation of Kalman and particle filter methods for diagnostics and prognostics of damages in aviation platform structures; and 3) integrated computation, modeling and engineering for XLADD structures.
