1.11-Freshwater shortage is an area of concern in the world and the US. In the Caribbean, paleoclimate archives have documented extreme megadroughts with a severity not observed in the instrumental era. This project seeks to reconstruct Caribbean hydroclimate through paleoclimate records to understand the drivers for Caribbean droughts using an interdisciplinary approach (sedimentology, microfossils, compound-specific stable isotopes). Budget categories include salaries (PI, graduate student and student), fringe, travel, materials & supplies, tuition and other costs.
