This Focus Area will develop a framework that enables utilities and policymakers to engage commercial and residential customers with the objective of promoting and deploying energy efficiency and conservation as well as demand-response enabling technologies. The research will explore and quantify the impacts of people, buildings and technology on demand-response, energy efficiency and conservation goals. The overall objective is to develop a science-based methodology that allows for large-scale implementation of demand-response, energy efficiency and conservation measures as well as enabling technologies that can showcase San Antonio as a model for broader national utilization.
