Note:

NIH SC2 SCORE: Meningitis is a severe bacterial and viral infection of the brain and can become fatal in as early as 24 hours after symptoms are noticed. This project will provide a low-cost paper-based microfluidic point of care (POC) device and method for multiplexed, rapid, highly-sensitive diagnosis of meningitis. It will also have great potential in the detection of various plant, animal, foodborn, and infectious diseases from microorganisms especially in resource-poor settings.
