Program Title: Renewable Energy Research and Development
CFDA Linked: Renewable Energy Research and Development

Note:

The collaborative research team will address the fundamental problem of lattice-mismatch (which creates defects and in tum lowers open-circuit voltage and efficiency) in CdTe/CdS solar cells by combining nano heteroepitaxy (nano-patterned epitaxy) with alloy compositional grading ofZnxCd(l-x)Te to achieve arrays of isolated, identical, nano-scale, and single-crystal solar cells with Voc ? I and Efficiency ? 20%, for the first time.
