Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: Intellectual Humility in Religious Leaders

Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity: Fuller Theological Seminary

Program Title: none

Note:

This project examines the relationship between intellectual humility (IH) and religious tolerance in religious leaders. Our main hypothesis is that IH will be positively associated with religious tolerance, and that IH will predict the development and maintenance of positive working relationships with individuals who have different religious beliefs and values (i.e., individuals from different religious affiliations or denominations). This project involves both quantitative and qualitative methods, and will examine three central questions: 1. What is the relationship between IH and religious tolerance? 2. What is the relationship between IH and the development and maintenance of positive working relationships with religiously different individuals? 3. How does IH develop over time, and what factors predict the development of IH?
