Table of Programs (TOP) for Doctoral and Engineering Programs

The Table of Programs shows degree programs and planning authority for doctoral and engineering programs. Planning authority prior to submission of a degree program proposal is needed for any program that requires approval at a quarterly Board meeting: doctoral and engineering programs, as well as programs with new costs that would exceed $2 million during the first five years. An institution shall submit notification to the Board for the addition of such programs for inclusion of authority in the Table of Programs [Texas Administrative Code, Title 19 (Education), Part 1, Chapter 5, Subchapter B, ยง5.24].

Look up current Table of Programs for public universities and health-related institutions - Use the dropdown menu to find and select an institution and then click the Go button.

The TOP lists the following distinctions by symbols:

P - Preliminary authority only. No degree programs offered.

X - Degree programs offered.

J - Joint degree granting - in cooperation with another institution.

S - Supporting role only - in cooperation with another institution.
