Preliminary Authority Requests

Procedure for Comments: If you would like to support, protest, or otherwise comment on any new program or administrative requests, please do so by the "Respond By" date. Send comments to Macgregor.Stephenson@thecb.state.tx.us with a copy to the Vice President for Academic Affairs of the proposing institution.

Preliminary authority does not guarantee that the Coordinating Board will approve a program in the proposed program area if the institution comes forward at a later time with a program proposal. However, it does indicate that the Board considers the program area and level to be consistent with the mission of the institution.

• AUB--Authorized by the Board
• APC--Approved by the Commissioner
• APS--Approved by Coordinating Board staff
• DEF--Deferred
• DNC or DNS--Denied by the Commissioner or Coordinating Board staff
• WDI--Withdrawn by institution
• NAN--No Action Needed
• NAP--Not Approved
• RTN--Returned to Institution
• ACK--Acknowledged; and
• RVD--Reviewed by Coordinating Board staff
